For instance, Abacus Master is one of the most prominent online portals for practicing calculation.
Every year, they arrange for a global competition called International Online Abacus Olympiad (IAO) for five to fifteen years old children or teenagers to participate in.

During this event, students will be tested in four categories.

Category 4: ADDITION AND SUBTRACTION. Pattern : 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & 5 digits 15 rows. Total: 5 Numbers. Time: 10 Minutes. MULTIPLICATION. Pattern : 3 digits with 2 digits. Total: 10 Numbers. Time: 10 Minutes. DIVISION. Pattern: 4 digits with 2 digits. Total: 5 Numbers. Time: 10 Minutes.

Some of them are PAMA Global Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Association Competition, SAMA Competition, Universal Concept Mental Arithmetic System (UCMAS) International Competition, etc.
1-2.Do Online Abacus Competitions Still Exist Today? Why Are They Important?
Even though the soroban is still being used today, it is now used for different purposes.
In earlier times, it was known as a counting board which eventually turned into the soroban we know today.
Now, it is used to teach in schools. Its existence mainly divided into 3 ages; ANCIENT TIMES (The Salamis Tablet, the Roman Calculi, and Hand-abacus are from this period c. 300 B.C.E. to c. 500 C.E.), THE MIDDLE AGES(The Apices, the Coin-board, and the Line-board are from the period c. 5 C.E. to c. 1400 C.E.). Abaci is from the middle ages. And the last one is under the MODERN TIMES category (The Suan-pan, the Soroban, and the Schoty are from the period c. 1200 A.D to the present).

1-3. What Are the Rules of the Online Abacus Competition?
Every competition has its own set of rules.
However, a few basic rules can be explained as examples.
They will divide students into small groups as per their current difficulty level.
Students without cards will not be allowed to participate.
In this event, they have to write all answers clearly and legibly.
Students can use any method - Finger, Abacus, or Visuals.
They have to maintain a formal dress code.
The student must not write their name on the paper as the number is already entered in the Question Paper.
Otherwise, organizers can change their rules accordingly.
