In any school environment, it is important for the students to have positive and productive learning experiences since they’re key to their academic, social, and emotional success in school.

For instance, building confidence through a series of activities that is educational and builds values too.

But unfortunately, such environments are less to none existent, since some schools focus solely on academic success without paying attention to the development of their students.

Positive learning environments should offer children a climate of safety, teaching them that it is okay to make mistakes while learning, making space for trust and respect in which positive interaction is the norm.

Children have better performance at school when they’re in an environment that is not only positive but also fulfills each one of their necessities; helping them to feel good about themselves and believe in the capacity they can have at school.

When kids believe they can complete any problem or task and are encouraged to do it, they start to create positive thoughts associated with learning, the key to helping them get better in their education.

A characteristic of a positive learning environment is the psychological atmosphere of a class, paying attention to how the students may feel learning a certain topic, and recognizing their struggles as real.

This is especially important with math since its instruction carries some stigma.

1-1.Build Confidence for Children With Maths Online?

Build Confidence for Children With Maths Online?
Due to social standards and stereotypes, many kids grow up under the impression that they don’t have enough intelligence or ability to excel at math, while some may feel that math lacks room for creativity and free thought.

Those stigmas create a negative learning experience for them, as math can be intimidating to some students, making them feel that they’re not capable of succeeding in it.

If kids have good experiences studying maths, have fun, and truly enjoy doing it, it’s more likely that their grades will improve in the future since there’s a feeling of accomplishment, a milestone they completed.

To do this, teachers need to recognize the worth of each student and understand their struggle related to maths if there’s any.

By doing this kids will feel that their ideas are being respected and heard, resulting in the students being more willing to explore their ideas in class and make mistakes while learning because they will not have the fear of being ashamed or ridiculed for giving wrong answers.

A positive learning environment in math can also be achieved by exploring math problems in real life because they’ll see the relevance of math in their lives.

For little kids, this can be done with playing, using toys as a learning tool to make the experience of math less stressful.

But creating a better outlook and perspective about school and learning can be done using online tools as well, using them as a way of virtual games to teach students any topic.

1-2.Using Online Abacus to Build Confidence for School

Using Online Abacus to Build Confidence for School
The use of an online abacus is perfect to make kids interested in learning math.

At a first glance an abacus, even online, is attractive to kids: it has a unique structure and beads that they need to slide up and down in order to perform math operations, and for their minds, it may look like a virtual game to pass time with.

Teachers and parents can use an online abacus to practice the topics learned in class, encouraging them to want to get better and giving kids a different and interesting experience of learning.

An abacus can also be a group activity, by pairing the kids in which one says out loud the math operation and the other performs it in the abacus or making healthy competitions to see which one can be the first solving the problem.

The practice of the abacus will encourage kids to develop mental math skills by teaching them how to group numbers and find complements to solve double-digit addition problems.

It gives kids an interactive perspective of solving math operations, making the moment of learning a fun and positive experience.

These small milestones – of becoming better at maths or being able to understand and solve certain operations – can improve someone’s life to want to achieve more success and get better at what they do, this is especially true for little kids since when they achieve milestones they become more confident and start believing in themselves

1-3. Build Confidence for Kids With Achievable Milestones

Build Confidence for Kids With Achievable Milestones
Milestones are actions and achievements that are necessary to make progress towards a goal, a series of strategies that help to reach the desired future.

Through setting goals, kids acquire self-worth and ambition, believing in the skills and abilities they used to achieve their milestone, A kid struggling with low confidence may become frustrated or angry when they face a new challenge, having as consequence the difficulty they might have when making simple choices of decisions (since they don’t trust their own judgment, it is more likely that they’ll not know what to do).

Students who believe in themselves and in their academic skills will view classrooms as opportunities to improve themselves, working diligently to become successful.

When a kid doesn’t believe in their capacity, they'll refuse to want to try new things or want to achieve goals; it is important for teachers and parents to tell the child that they believe in them since it will help them to start believing in themselves as they continue working together to set their goal, making achievable milestones in the process that will boost the children's self-esteem.

Overall
By setting goals and achievable milestones students can become a better version of themselves since it makes them believe in their own skills and improving their life experiences by wanting to get better.

When they get exposed to a positive learning environment, the pressure of facing new challenges will be less, knowing they can trust in the skills that school taught them to have a healthy and positive success in life.
