Discovering the Abacus Online Trick- Homework and Practice
It takes a lot of difficulty to learn maths. However, with abacus online homework, you are able to learn with fun activities and discover about the benefits too.

I'm the author of this article and I'm a qualified abacus teacher, answering questions from around the world online abacus and various questions from online-soroban.com students.

Understanding How Abacus Online Homework Can Help You

It is well acknowledged the use of objects as teaching tools in the classroom, instruments with the aim of providing the kid an assist while learning math.

Every tool needs to be selected carefully to not only explain the topic of interest but to help the kid to build up different abilities and skills as well.

It isn't different for math learning, and it is essential for the educator to be familiar with the different tools and sources they should use in order to give the kid an education of excellence.
There are diverse math skills that are expected to be used by adults in day to day situations, skills that – even if in simpler ways – preschool and elementary-aged children are expected to master as well.

The employ of the abacus during math classes facilitates the learning of those abilities, improving the method used to teach math.

The abacus, as a teaching tool, gives children a contemporary point of view of math at the moment of study arithmetic operations (a math skill that envelops addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division); it works as an alternative of just write the numbers and operations on paper, giving kids the opportunity to play and experiment with the subject of learning, using the beads to represent the numbers and its value, focusing their attention and concentration on the abacus in their hands to be able to resolve the problem.

Problem-solving abilities are vital to success in both academic and everyday circumstances since they rely on higher cognitive processes to be solved successfully.

This tool also enhances the development of mathematical reasoning (the comprehension, recognition, and use of the different math skills) and mathematical cardinality (the understanding that the last number used to count a group of objects represents how many are in the group).

1-1.Using abacus online homework to improve maths?

Using abacus online homework to improve maths?
If the use of the abacus is constant, and it has given enough time for its training, the kid will be able to achieve incredible goals and results, since the abacus can increase the speed in doing mental math.

But what is mental math?

And why is it important for it to be developed in childhood?

Mental math is the capacity to calculate and get correct answers without the use of any other tool to track the calculation (paper and pencil, fingers, etc.).

The regular use of an abacus helps to improve the use of mental math in the child’s mind, since the kid, sooner or later, will learn to project the abacus in their mind, learning to solve math operations using the principles of the abacus, without the need of the physical tool.

However, there's more than the sole development of mental math because they'll also be undergoing the process of developing other aspects of the brain.

When the kids have mastered the ability to use mental math and a mental abacus, this is actually the result of having developed the abilities of memory, visualization, concentration, and observation – key in math operations.

The training of mental calculation boosts learning capabilities; whereas math skills are related with the left side of the brain, mental math stimulates and centers on the right side, which is responsible for visualization and imagination.

Solving math operations mentally requires to think of imaginative solutions and visualize numbers, involving the brain's right side.

Are There a Few Examples of Abacus Online Homework
There are diverse approaches to teaching the use of the abacus to solve math questions, but since one sole method might not work efficiently for every student, teachers should be familiar with the different methods used to teach the abacus.

The most well-known approaches in teaching are the logic method and the counting method.

The logic method focuses on understanding the what and why of the steps in solving a problem on the abacus, requiring the kid to know the partners of the numbers up to ten; the teacher must verbalize the steps and reasons while the student works on the problem.

This approach helps students who can follow the explanation and understand the logical concepts involved.

“The problem is 2+4.

What number comes first?

The answer is 2.

Set 2.

Can we set 4 directly?

No.

What is the smallest amount that can be set that is greater than 4?

The answer is 5.

Set the 5 bead.

How many more is 5 than 4?

The answer is 2.

Clear 2 beads.

What is the answer?

The answer is 6.”

The counting method needs for the student to count each bead as it’s subtracted or added, moving from the unit beads to the five beads (but only counting one for all beads).

This approach could be appropriate for young children that are starting to work with the abacus, since they would understand better a manipulative process, without having to focus on each individual step.

“The problem is 3+4.

What number comes first?

The answer is 3, therefore we set 3.

Now we want to add 4.

To do that, we push up another unit bead (count 1), then another unit bead (count 2), then push down the bead above the counting bar (count 3), and clear all four beads under the counting bar.

Finally, push up one more unit bead (count 4).

What is the answer?

The answer is 7.

By understanding these approaches, kids would benefit from the use of the abacus.

Primarily, they get better abilities in calculating compared to those kids without the knowledge of mental arithmetic; and secondary, it increases all their analytical and math abilities previously discussed, promoting patience and observatory skills as well.

By understanding these approaches, kids would benefit from the use of the abacus.

Primarily, they get better abilities in calculating compared to those kids without the knowledge of mental arithmetic; and secondary, it increases all their analytical and math abilities previously discussed, promoting patience and observatory skills as well.

Another benefit is that it helps to develop long term memory – when kids understand how to use an abacus, they learn how to address problems and associate the steps to solve them with the desired solution; helping the kid to have a positive attitude towards math.

Overall
With the continuous practice with the abacus, kids will be able to build up all the benefits associated with mental math, giving them access to various skills that will be of great help in the near future.
